Summer Internship Opportunity

ANNOUNCING SEVERAL SUMMER POSITIONS in Non-Profit Organizing, Sustainable Housing Construction, and Youth and Sustainable Agriculture Education in the San Juan Islands of Western Washington:

The Lopez Community Land Trust (LCLT) is looking for interns for its programs. www.lopezclt.org. LCLT requires a 35 hours per week commitment and offers a $100 per week stipend and housing on Lopez Island, Washington. Choices include: Sustainable agriculture with Kids Summer Workshops (see SARD program on website), Construction of 11 zero net energy straw bale homes of affordable housing (construction training provided), Office/web work, and combination of organic strawberry farming and any of the preceding. The LCLT needs interns for no less than two months and up to a 12 month commitment between now and March 2008.

Note: Short term summer employment as the Youth in Sustainable Agriculture intern may transition to an exciting well-paid position in Lopez Island’s cutting edge Farm-to-School Program, as curriculum developer/environmental educator in Lopez Island Public School.
